Scottish Gossip: McTominay, Ferguson, Barron, Reedijk, Vignal, Clearie

Napoli believe Scott McTominay wants to extend his contract, despite reports of interest from Real Madrid. The Scotland midfielder, 29, has two years of his current deal left to run, and Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has revealed that talks are ongoing.

Manna’s comments suggest Napoli are confident the midfielder wants to stay in Italy. McTominay is valued at £34m in the latest market value update, which makes him the 35th most valuable British player and the top Scot. He sits one place ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Archie Gray, a Scotland-qualified England youth defender.
