Harry Kane has agreed in principle to a new long-term contract with Bayern Munich running through June 2029, and both sides have reportedly settled the financial terms.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, citing Sky reporter Michael Bridge, reports that Bayern and Kane have reached a verbal agreement on the deal. The contract documents are now with the lawyers, who are reviewing them and are expected to approve the deal for signing.
Contract Terms Largely Agreed
According to the report, the contract term and the financial terms have both been negotiated. Although the new annual salary has not been publicly disclosed, an agreement on compensation is reportedly in place. For Kane, only the final formalities appear to remain.
The news builds on reports earlier this week that Bayern and Kane had agreed on an extension through 2029. The 33-year-old’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027, so the new deal would tie him to the club for two more years.
Club and Player Signal Long-Term Plans
Bayern officials have made clear in recent months that they are planning for the long term with their star striker. Kane has also signalled on several occasions that he feels at home in Munich and is open to staying longer.
Most recently, sporting director Max Eberl said talks were going well but had not yet been finalised, adding that some details still needed to be worked out. With those points now reportedly resolved, the contract only requires legal approval before the signing can take place.
If the deal is completed, it would settle one of the most significant questions over the future of the Bayern squad. Kane wants to stay, and both parties have apparently agreed on the contract length and salary.
