Vincent Kompany was taken to hospital by ambulance in Munich after he collapsed during Bayern’s training session at Säbener Straße on Friday. A rescue helicopter landed at the training ground to take him to the hospital immediately, according to Sky Sports.
The Belgian missed the pre-match press conference ahead of Bayern’s Champions League clash with Arsenal. He still led his team from the dugout as normal, having been forced to sit through the entire 90 minutes of the match against RB Leipzig.
Sky Sports added that Kompany had already felt pain in his legs before the Arsenal game, which it linked to a virus and the resulting hip problems.
